The Hottest Volume in the View Finder Series -
One Wing in the View Finder is my most favorite volume in the whole View Finder Series. There are several pivotal events happening here. Fei Long returned to Japan, intending to extract revenge on Asami. He tried to intimidate Akihito into getting some black market data from Asami by holding his friends hostage. Being a good friend, Akihito contacted Asami to try and fulfill Fei's demands in order to save his friends. Unbeknownst to Akihito, there were other behind the scenes events at play here that in the end confused him, made him take some really reckless actions and put all of the parties in real danger at the end.
Volume 3 is packed tight with actions that will never bore the reader. There are so many memorable scenes that are well drawn here. I love the scenes where Akihito more or less admit to himself that he is addicted to Asami (though not verbally). It makes for the hottest bedroom scenes between the two (I had to nurse an ice cold margarita while reading these chapters!). Then there are the panels where as both of them stand among the wreckage of the mafia war, Asami declared that he would no longer grant Aki his freedom and they are going to the depth of hell together (what more romantic love confession can you get from a top dog mafia seme?) Of course, Ayano Yamane sensei has to end the chapter with a big shoot outs between Fei & Asami over Aki that ends in a cliff hanger that leaves us wondering if the two lovers will ever see each other again.
I love the three light hearted one shots that are included in this volume as well - they showcase sensei's sense of humor that adds a nice note to the main story that is getting a little heavy at this point. I can't sing enough praises about sensei's art and I actually think June outdo themselves in translation & localization this time. The conversations among the character are crisp, sharp and logical - what anyone would expect proud men involved in the peripheral of law businesses would talk like. I would definitely recommend this series with a capital `A' in every yaoi girl's collection.
